What the service does

Norr is a free automated tool that inspects publicly available responses from a web address you provide and returns a security grade along with suggested fixes. Norr only examines information that is already publicly accessible over the internet. It does not access your source code, log in to your application, attempt to exploit anything it finds, or make any changes to the site being scanned. Scan results are generated automatically and are not reviewed by a person.

Acceptable use

You may only submit web addresses for sites you own or have explicit permission to test. By submitting an address, you confirm you have that right. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have permission, and for any consequences of scanning a site you do not have permission to scan.

You may not use Norr to scan sites belonging to others without authorization, to attempt to overload or disrupt the service, or for any unlawful purpose. We may block access or refuse to scan any address at our discretion.

No warranty

Norr is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

A passing grade does not mean your application is secure. Norr checks a limited set of issues visible from outside your application and cannot detect problems in your source code, database configuration, authentication logic, or business logic. Results may include false positives and may miss real vulnerabilities. Norr is not a penetration test, a security audit, or a substitute for professional security review. You remain solely responsible for the security of your own applications.

Suggested fixes are informational only. You are responsible for reviewing any suggested change before applying it to your code.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Norr and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the service — including any security incident affecting an application you scanned, whether or not Norr identified the issue. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed USD $0.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
